Influenza and COVID-19 Winter Update

The Centers for Disease Control states that it’s likely influenza viruses and SARS-CoV-2 virus will both circulate and spread this winter. It is possible to have the flu, other respiratory illnesses, and COVID-19 at the same time.

Brown Medicine physicians recommend getting a flu vaccine. It is more important than ever, for everyone over the age of 6 months and especially all healthcare workers. The flu vaccine will not protect against COVID-19, but will reduce the risk of flu illness, hospitalization and death and will conserve health resources.
