Established over 40 years ago as University Foot & Ankle Center, Inc., Brown Medicine Division of Podiatry provides the most current, high-quality personalized podiatric healthcare today.
As Board Certified foot surgeons by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and Fellows of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, our doctors treat pediatric, adolescent, and adult foot pathology. Our practice also sub-specializes in the evaluation and management of sports medicine, diabetic, neurologic, orthopedic, dermatologic, vascular and wound care of the foot.
Our doctors have privileges at Rhode Island Hospital, the Miriam Hospital, Roger Williams Medical Center, and Southern New England Surgery Center. They serve on the teaching staff of the Roger Williams Medical Center Podiatric Surgical Residency Program with additional academic appointments at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine.

Edmund T. DosRemedios, DPM
A Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and Board Certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, Dr. DosRemedios is Chief of Podiatry at Rhode Island Hospital. He has been treating patients in the hospital and in the Emergency Room since 1999.
Dr. DosRemedios is actively involved in teaching as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and as an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor for the Physician Assistant Program at Johnson and Wales University. He is also an attending physician for the Roger Williams Medical Center Residency in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery.
Treating all types of foot problems in adults and children, Dr. DosRemedios has a special interest in patients with Diabetes-related foot problems including simple and complex wounds and Charcot Foot. He lectures on this subject both locally and nationally.
Dr. DosRemedios is a graduate of Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine and completed his residency in Podiatric Surgery at Yale New Haven Hospital/West Haven VA., CT.
Louis R. Simeone, DPM
A Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and board certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, Dr. Simeone treats all foot related problems in adults and children. He has expertise in all aspects of diabetic related foot problems requiring conservative or surgical treatment. Dr. Simeone also performs reconstructive foot surgery relating to bunions, hammertoes, and other foot deformities. He also treats sports related injuries and prescribes custom orthotics.
From 2001-2011, Dr. Simeone served as the Chief of Foot Surgery, Section of Podiatric/Surgical Service, for the Providence VA Medical Center. A Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, Dr. Simeone has published original research related to diabetic foot complications in national scientific publications. He is also an active teacher and lecturer on the topic of foot surgery to Brown medical students, residents and fellows and the podiatric surgical residents at Roger Williams Medical Center. He has worked in private practice in Providence, Rhode Island, since 1999.
An honors graduate of The New York College of Podiatric Medicine, Dr. Simeone completed his surgical residency at the New England Deaconess Hospital/Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA. Following his surgical training, Dr. Simeone completed a research fellowship in Diabetic Foot Surgery at the Beth Israel-Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA.
Thomas Huott, DPM
Board Certified in Foot Surgery by the American Board of Foot & Ankle Surgery, Dr. Huott specializes in Sports Medicine, Foot and Ankle Surgery, and Bunion Surgery. He provides medical and surgical treatment of all concerns of the foot, ankle and lower leg. He also treats patients for diabetic foot care, ingrown toenails, flat feet, fractures, neuropathy, plantar fasciitis and heel spurs, sprains, tendonitis and achilles tendonitis, warts and wound care.
Before joining University Foot and Ankle Center in 2018, Dr. Huott was a solo practitioner. Well known for his expertise with achilles rupture repair and regarded as a meticulous surgeon, Dr. Huott stays current on the latest trends and techniques and proven treatments and surgical procedures.=
Dr. Huott graduated from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in 1994. He completed a two-year Brown University Affiliated Podiatric Medical and Surgical Residency at Roger Williams Hospital in Providence.
